Getting Closer

Working on extreme macro photos up to 5x. This lens can go from 1x (100mm) to 5x (41mm). Have to watch that the object doesn’t hit the lens — it’s THAT close!

Macro Photography Lenses

I used a Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 macro lens and Canon EF 100mm 1:2.8 macro. I got great photos from both lenses. The Sigma is MUCH less expensive than the Canon but they offer different options. To take closeups with the Sigma one has to move far away from the subject. With the Canon the photographer is very close to the subject. You can achieve great detail and use lighting more accurately than with the Sigma.
